Farmor’s School has a strong history of helping students achieve academic success. Below is a summary of examination results.
Farmor’s Sixth Form achieved results in the top 2% of all schools and colleges in England in both 2015 and 2016. New A Levels were introduced in 2017 so results are not comparable data to previous years. The data below is for A Levels only as we do not offer Applied General or Tech Level qualifications.

The percentage of students who continued in education or training in 2016 was 66% and the percentage entering employment was 24%.
Attainment at GCSE is in the top 20% of schools nationally and is rising year-on-year.

The Basics measure indicates the proportion of students achieving a ‘standard pass’ grade (C/4) or 'strong pass' grade (5) in both English and Maths.
The Threshold measure shows the percentage of students achieving 5 or more GCSEs at grade C/4 or better. This is no longer a Government measure but is useful for comparing attainment over past years.
The Attainment 8 score is calculated by attributing a point score to each GCSE grade and adding the best 8 GCSE grades a student achieves together.
The Progress 8 score indicates whether students achieved more or less, on average, than the grades they were expected to achieve given their prior attainment (i.e. Year 6 SATS results). A score of +0.5 would indicate students, on average, achieve half a grade above expectation.
The EBacc attainment (English Baccalaureate) measure shows what percentage of students achieve C/4+ or 5+ grades in English, Maths, Science, either Geography or History and a foreign language. Students must take this combination of subjects to be included in the measure. Farmor’s School offer a free choice of subjects at GCSE and do not require students to take Geography, History or a foreign language as we believe that this is not suitable for all students.
