Friends of Farmor's School

Friends of Farmor's School (FOFS)
FOFS comprise of a group of teachers and parents who are willing to give time to meet and arrange events to raise money for the school.

What do FOFS do for  Farmor’s School?

FOFS provide funds to allow the school to purchase items that cannot be bought out of the normal budget – all of which improve the teaching of the pupils.

This includes a contribution to various departments and the lease of the minibus. Last year FOFS helped the purchase of iMac computers, digital cameras, GPS units, CD Players and a camcorder for the Music, Art, Language and Geography departments, curtains and blinds for the English department, boxes of suspension files and subscription to various maths publications to the Maths department, while the Learning Support and the Volley Ball Club received money towards games and equipment.   So, in short, FOFS aim to help every aspect of the school.

How do we raise funds?

In the last year the school requested a total of £7,325 to help the individual departments purchase extra items and services to add to their teaching. To give our help to the school we need to raise funds and this is how we do it:-

We organise: Annual spring ball, Christmas raffle, discos, quizzes, Christmas stall at the Fairford Christmas Fayre, catering for Open Days and Parent’s Evenings and other school events. We enjoy what we do and we have lots of fun at these events. The best part is that we make a profit doing it – and this is where the school and pupils benefit!  However, we do need support from all parents to make these events successful.
