Farmor’s Sixth Form students celebrated a brilliant set of A level results today. Value-added scores, which measure the progress made from GCSE to A Level, were the best for the last three years – a testament to how dedicated and enthusiastic the class of 2019 have been. Some were still jet-lagged and weary from their month-long Kenya adventure, but still made it through the rain to celebrate with their friends and staff. After two years of working closely together in such small classes, the pleasure of success is certainly mutually shared. The celebrations extended to the Year 12 students were also delighted to collect their Extended Project Qualification results, which were also up on last year. A third of the year group took this AS qualification in addition to their A level studies and 84% gained A*-B with 100% pass rate. Over a fifth of grades were A/A* and the upward overall trend continued again this year with 82% of grades at A*-C.
