Our amibition is to prepare students to be self-regulating learners by the time they leave Farmor's School. We want them to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses and have well developed strategies that help them learn.

We do this through explicitly preparing and supporting students to plan, monitor and evaluate their work as the basis for successful, self regulated learning. As teachers we provide support, prompts, and scaffolding so that our students can assume more responsibility as they move up through the school.

The homework we set is targeted towards the content learnt in lessons, so students consolidate their learning at home. We aim to set homework 'little and often'. If longer tasks are required to be completed at home, we will set shorter deadlines building up to the final hand in.

We broadly follow these guidelines in terms of setting homework:

• KS3 - at least once every four lessons per subject (not PE or PSHE).
• KS4 - at least once every three lessons per subject (not PE or PSHE).
• KS5 - at least every two lessons per subject.

We have a homework club which runs every day to offer homework support. Departments will follow up on missed homework.

All homework will be published in our on-line application Edulink. This is visible to both parents and students and enables parents to see the type, volume and requirements for homework set. Edulink can be accessed via the link: Edulink 

All students and parents are issued with a username and password by which they can access their account.
