Unit 2 (practical exam and coursework combined)

The practical exam was done by all students in school under the usual board conditions.

The number of dishes required to be planned as part of the assessment was reduced in line with the board specifications under COVID regulations.

The number of dishes required to be cooked and presented was reduced by the board under COVID regulations, however most pupils chose to complete more than required to allow them to demonstrate their skills. This was permitted by the board.

Written work was completed at home and in school. This was permitted by the board under COVID regulations to allow the written aspect to be completed even when students were not in school.

Both elements of Unit 2 were marked and moderated internally in line with previous assessments, but allowing for permitted alterations.
