Walk Eat Talk Eat London Trip

A part of our Food and Nutrition GCSE course students study multicultural cuisine, and the reasons people choose to eat certain foods. ‘Walk Eat Talk Eat’ is an exciting trip where students are given a guided tour around a part of East London that is renowned for its varied cultural mix of foods. The tour taught students about the history of the area and how various groups came to be there.

They learnt about the influence their cuisines, culture and architecture have brought to the area. Students spent time in Spitalfields Market and the old Jewish quarter, sampling a salted beef bagel from one of London's oldest and still family run bagel bakeries, whilst learning about their fascinating story. This was followed by a further four stops, with chocolate, Bangladeshi snacks and Sri Lankan street-food.
