World Book Day

World Book Day has turned into World Book Week as our school has been a hive of bookish excitement and activities. The day started with a year 7 English Library lesson. With break and lunch time hosting our 'Guess who - match the shelfie to the selfie' quiz.

Well done to Martha in year 10 and Adam & Orson in year 9 who claimed first, second and third place! They were rewarded with £5 book vouchers to spend at the scholastic book fair at the end of the month.

The book swap was another big hit, students were leaving with arms full of amazing nearly new books. Plus every student was given a cake and either a free WBD book or a £1 book token to use at a bookshop or the school book fair later this month.

The library had well over a hundred visitors that day and decorations and bunting gave the space a real sense of occasion. With our librarian Ms Barker-Harrold dressed as Cruella DeVille joined by her team of the witches from Macbeth. And no celebration would be complete without our VIP guest, Lola the school therapy dog, popping by to join in the festivities.
