Continue to read for pleasure – including non-fiction. You could consider exploring a variety of non-fiction text types, such as:-
Newspapers and magazines – there is lots of online content available as well as print publications.
Travel writing eg Bill Bryson, Michael Palin or Simon Reeve.
Biography or autobiography. Read about someone you admire?
Special interests like history, or space, or motorbikes, or gaming – there are books on everything.
To supplement the work on speeches you could read and explore some famous speeches from history – eg Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech, or Churchill’s ‘Finest Hour’ and other WW2 speeches etc
